The Department of Automatic Control, the Center for Reearch and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (Cinvestav - IPN), has 19 full-time faculty, 9 support staffs and about 70 full-time students, dedicated to both basic and applied research in automatic control. Of the 19 researchers, all with doctor degree, 17 belong to the National System of Researchers (SNI). The department's research topics include:

• Theory of automatic control
• Control techniques and applications
• Robotics and artificial vision
• Advanced mathematics

Our department offers both master and Ph.D. programs in automatic control, and with mathematics option. Our graduate programs are both registered in the National Graduate Programs Certification (PNP).
