Alexander S. Poznyak was graduated from Moscow Physical Technical Institute (MPhTI) in 1970. He earned Ph.D. and Doctor Degrees from the Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences in 1978 and 1989, respectively.

From 1973 up to 1993 he served this institute as researcher and leading researcher, and in 1993 he accepted a post of full professor (3-E) at CINVESTAV of IPN in

Mexico

.

Nowadays, he is the head of the Automatic Control Department. He is the director of 23 Ph.D thesis’s (15 in

Mexico

). He has published more than 120 papers in different international journals and 9 books including “Adaptive Choice of Variants” (Nauka, Moscow, 1986), “Learning Automata: Theory and Applications” (Elsivier-Pergamon, 1994), “Learning Automata and Stochastic Programming” (Springer-Verlag, 1997), “Self-learning Control of Finite Markov Chains” (Marcel Dekker, 2000), “Differential Neural Networks: Identification, State Estimation and Trajectory Tracking” (World Scientific, 2001) and “Advance mathematical Tools for Automatic Control Engineers. Vol. 1: Deterministic Technique” (Elsevier, 2008).

He is Regular Member of Mexican Academy of Sciences and System of National Investigators (SNI -3).

He is Associated Editor of Iberoamerican Int. Journal on “Computations and Systems”. He was also Associated Editor of CDC, ACC and Member of Editorial Board of IEEE CSS. He is a member of the Evaluation Committee of SNI (Ministry of Science and Technology) responsible for Engineering Science and Technology Foundation in

Alexander S. Poznyak se graduó en el Instituto de Física Técnica de Moscow (MPhTI) en 1970. Obtuvo los grados de Doctor en Filosofia (PhD) y Doctor (habilitación) en el Instituto de Ciencias de Control de la Academia de Ciencias Rusa en 1978 y 1989, respectivamente.

De 1973 a 1993 presto servicios a este instituto como investigador e investigador líder, en 1993 aceptó el cargo de profesor de tiempo completo (3-E) en el Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN en México.

Actualmente, es jefe de Departamento de Control Automático. Es director de 23 tesis de doctorado (15 en Mexico). Ha publicado más de 120 artículos en diversas revistas internacionales incluyendo 9 libros: “Adaptive Choice of Variants” (Nauka, Moscow, 1986), “Learning Automata: Theory and Applications” (Elsivier-Pergamon, 1994), “Learning Automata and Stochastic Programming” (Springer-Verlag, 1997), “Self-learning Control of Finite Markov Chains” (Marcel Dekker, 2000) , “Differential Neural Networks: Identification, State Estimation and Trajectory Tracking” (World Scientific, 2001) y “Advance mathematical Tools for Automatic Control Engineers. Es miembro regular de la Academia Mexicana de Ciencias y del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Nivel-III).

Es editor asociado de la revista internacional iberoamericana sobre “Computación y Sistemas”. También es editor asociado del CDC (Conferencia sobre Control y Decisión), ACC (Conferencia Americana de Control), y miembro del comité editorial del CSS del IEEE. Es miembro del comité de evaluación del SNI (CONACYT) para las Ciencias de la Ingenieria y Tecnología.
